Only Jesus Can Do That
In reading group I had written a sentence on the board:
I can skate on the lake.
One of the kids said "Mrs. Groth that is impossible; only Jesus can do that!"

Asleep
I just came in from looking at my kids asleep. They always look so peaceful and content that way. Here are a few of my favorite sleeping pictures over the years.

Desert in Bloom
We have had an unseasonably long spring this year, as far as weather goes anyway. It is usually blazing hot by now, but most days have been in the 70s and 80s for all of March and April. It won't be long until it is 110 out, so we are enjoying it. Flowers aren't the first thing most people think of when they think of the desert, but actually, they are absolutely beautiful when they bloom. I took these pictures today at the zoo. Most of these are native plants, but a few are not.

Spring Training: Another Good Reason to Visit Us
Another fun thing to do in Arizona in the spring, is go to Cactus League baseball games (Spring Training). These were taken at 2 different games. The ones with Maya were taken in the "lawn" section of the Tempe stadium, which is perfect for us, because the kids can move around a bit and not be in anyone's way, but we could still see the action fairly well. Lots of fun :)

Body Art
Shayne is very dramatic. He loves anything that involves pretending and getting "in character". Maya likes to paint on anything and everything, especially herself. I'm glad that at least for the time being it is the washable stuff... Here are a few pictures. The one with the red paint is the oldest one and was taken when Maya was three. She was red down to her knees. Anyone else's kids like to draw or paint on themselves or is it just mine?

Spring Break...Love It!
We are having a great spring break so far...nothing fancy, just a lot of time outside and the weather has been perfect! It has been in the 70s every day this week. If that makes you feel bad about the climate where you live, don't worry, it'll be 110 around here soon enough. For now, we are enjoying it while it lasts :)
